Sources and licences
How Same Page credits the curriculum frameworks and sources behind its guides.
Same Page guides are written from scratch by Same Page. This page explains where the curriculum frameworks and facts come from, how we credit them, and what we do and don't reproduce.
Our own material
All explanations, worked examples, practice and exam-style questions, flashcards, model texts and diagrams in Same Page guides are original Same Page material, © Penrose Analytics Pty Ltd. Diagrams are drawn by us. We don't reproduce textbook pages, school worksheets, past exam questions or published literature.
Australian Curriculum (ACARA)
The Years 8–10 guides are aligned to the Australian Curriculum Version 9.0. Each guide cites the relevant content descriptions by code and summarises the content it covers.
© Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) 2010 to present, unless otherwise indicated. This material was downloaded from the Australian Curriculum website (accessed October–November 2026) and was modified: content descriptions are cited by code and summarised rather than reproduced in full. The material is licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Version updates are tracked in the 'Curriculum version history' section on the 'About the Australian Curriculum' page of the Australian Curriculum website. ACARA does not endorse any product that uses the Australian Curriculum or make any representations as to the quality of such products. Any product that uses material published on this website should not be taken to be affiliated with ACARA or have the sponsorship or approval of ACARA. It is up to each person to make their own assessment of the product, taking into account matters including, but not limited to, the version number and the degree to which the materials align with the content descriptions and achievement standards (where relevant).
Where we claim alignment, it is to the content descriptions and achievement standards, not to ACARA's elaborations.
Victorian Curriculum and VCE (VCAA)
Guides also cite Victorian Curriculum F–10 Version 2.0 codes, and VCE guides cite study design units, areas of study and outcomes. We cite these only to show alignment; we don't reproduce VCAA text, study-design wording, examination questions or examination reports.

The VCAA does not endorse or make any warranties regarding this study resource. Current VCE study designs, past examinations and related content can be accessed directly at www.vcaa.vic.edu.au.
Facts, figures and data
Each guide ends with a Sources and credits note listing the sources for its key facts and figures. Most are public or authoritative bodies, for example:
- the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the Bureau of Meteorology, CSIRO and Geoscience Australia;
- the National Archives of Australia, the Australian War Memorial, the Australian Electoral Commission and the Parliamentary Education Office;
- the Productivity Commission, NHMRC, the Australian Museum and AIATSIS;
- United Nations agencies, the World Bank, NASA and NOAA;
- peer-reviewed research and established reference works.
We restate facts and figures in our own words. Graphs and diagrams are drawn by us from the cited figures; we don't copy images, tables or text from these sources. Copyright in each source remains with its owner, and citing a source doesn't mean that body endorses Same Page. Where figures are disputed or estimated, we give a range and say so.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge
Where guides discuss Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and knowledge, we rely on published sources, credit them in the guide, and don't reproduce cultural material such as stories, images or designs. Please tell us if anything should be corrected or removed.
Names and trademarks
Names of organisations, curricula and qualifications are used only to identify them. Same Page is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by ACARA, the VCAA, any education department or any school.
Questions or concerns
